With EMDR‑Remote, you have full control over the composition of the task you present to your client. A task can consist of three components:
Eye Movements
Interactive
Sounds You can configure these components before starting a set, and you can also adjust them while a set is running.
Task Component: Eye Movements

Adjust the trajectory to one of the available paths: Linear, Ellipse, Bouncing, or Figure‑8.
If moving visual stimuli are less suitable for your client, you can choose to disable this component.
For each trajectory, you can also adjust the speed.
💡 Tip: Before you start working with the client’s actual material, you can do a quick test run together to determine which speed works best for them. This gives you a solid baseline right from the start of your EMDR session.
Task Component: Interactive

These task components require a response from the client. The number of correct and incorrect responses is tracked per set in a mini‑scoreboard.
Visual Clients are shown icons to which they respond using the spacebar:
Green target – single: press the spacebar once
Green target – double: press the spacebar twice
Stop icon: do not respond Audio Clients hear sounds and respond using the down arrow key. Math Task Clients are presented with a math problem and respond using the up arrow key:
Correct answer: press the up arrow
Incorrect answer: do not respond You can adjust the difficulty of the math problems on the right side. Color The color of the ball can be changed for additional distraction.
You can let it switch automatically…
…or adjust it manually. You can then instruct the client to name the color out loud.
Task Component: Sounds

You can also choose to add sounds as part of the task.
Clicks are the bilateral tones you may already be familiar with.
Pops can be played whenever the ball changes color.
The buzzer can be enabled and set to sound every 5 or 10 seconds.
Note: this is a loud and sudden sound, and may not be suitable for all clients. 💡 Tip: As the therapist, you won’t hear these sounds yourself — instead, you’ll see from the button color whether a sound is active. Before starting the EMDR protocol, make sure your client can hear the sounds. For example, briefly start a task and ask whether they can hear the clicks.
